The Urge to Share Everything on the Internet — Is it Worth all the Life?

There are more personal stories on the internet than education.

The Internet has made us too busy. We are open to sharing anything and everything on social media, no matter how people react. Some are comfortable sharing their personal stories, some their learning experiences, some teach, and some network with absolutely silly content.

The urge to share everything on the internet is quite common in this era. Especially, since the pandemic, everyone seems to be starting their own channels all over and sharing what they know to earn money online. The online money-making methods have taken a rise (unexpectedly). This has been encouraging to many, like many writers, creators, influencers, translators, authors, and many more! (the non-tech ones). But please be careful when you’re sharing your personal stories on social media.

How far do you share your life on the internet is the real dealer here?

Before getting there, ask yourself if is it worth sharing everything that’s going on in your life with a world full of strangers (online community). On one side, people talk about friendships, trust, and years of knowing each other. On the other side, people simply put their personal life, and day-to-day life without any thought on social media. Just the confusing mess around us.

The Internet has created that urge in people to share anything and everything with faceless people as we don’t know them, and they don’t know us. Hence, it is safe. That’s how hackers are born actually. As the internet world is increasingly growing every day, there’s much to know before you share your personal life.

Sharing personal experiences and helping people not make the same mistakes, saving time and effort, is absolutely not wrong. But, there’s always a limit to sharing things even with friends. Though you share with a kind heart and the right intention, people cannot take it because you are not living their life — as per you, you were in a good mood but not everyone.

That’s why there are non-offensive, non-personal, general, peaceful topics to share on the internet because these topics are received by many in a calm way. When you’re ready to share your personal stories, experiences you have gone through, and lessons you learned choose the platform wisely. The platform should have readers, a friendly community, and encouragement.

Trolls and Memes have become common on platforms like Twitter and Instagram. Whatever you say — there are a lot of people who are ready to comment. Whatever you share — there are another lot of people who screenshot it and troll it. You might never know this. Because the internet is a big ocean you will never come to know who is making fun of you.

Internet has become quite complicated than before. It is demanding your time more than 8 hours in a day. It exceeds most often, I said the average. The work we do is 8 hours a day, and on top of that sharing something on social media for external attention, keeping that aside in your brain, and feeling low when people go unnoticed is a constant loop. Of course, there are good ones on the internet that’s why it is still going smoothly.

Remember that the internet can be your source of income, learning place, and teaching place but not your personal diary. It should never be. Keep your private self away from the internet so that you don’t put extra stress on your mind. You don’t constantly think about what to share. You don’t urge your inner self to stay awake. This is dangerous. Keep yourself a boundary on what to share and what not because the world around you is already coercing you to share.

Never Blame Someone else

Creators say to share your learning mistakes and ups and downs in your journey to make others inspire. It is a process of learning from one’s journey. Creators or Influencers or Actors no one will ever say to share your personal day-to-day life on the internet. That’s how easily your profiles get hacked suddenly, passwords get changed, and all your content gets lost. Be alert, notice what’s happening, and use it as a learning source rather than a digital gallery. Because words, lessons, ebooks, and digital products, all are much better than human faces. Everyone is running in a survival cycle and no one really has time!
